Our approach focuses on telling their story through the students’ experiences and testimonials. Fostering Hope Each year in the U.S., 24,000 young people age out of the foster care system with nowhere to go. One in five will become homeless. One in four will end up behind bars. Seventy percent of the young women will become pregnant. And only half of those who age out will be employed by age 24. “Fostering Hope” tells the stories of young people facing this challenge — and the work being done by individuals and agencies trying to mentor and guide them as they face the challenges of making the transition from foster care to adult life. Genworth Mortgage – The Spot Lennis and Donna-Maria Harris tell the story of finding their beloved home in “The Spot,” produced for Genworth Mortgage Insurance Company. Women Asking “Women Asking” is a project we filmed with more than a dozen women leaders who were speaking at a monthly meeting for professional women in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C., region. The interviews were filmed over a four-month period to produce this short film highlighting their advice to women about the critical importance of asking for what they need to be successful. Better Angels Convention This film captures the sentiments of the delegates of Better Angels, an organization focused on bringing together Americans from both sides of the political debate, as they left to take the Better Angels philosophy back into their own communities. Better Angels held its first convention in Harrisonburg, VA, in June 2018. One Of A Million Stories – Kristie Wimbush “One Of A Million Stories” is a series of interviews of individuals who have experienced a great struggle, tragedy or crisis in which they moved through the event and came out of the experience with a story of redemption. In my work and everyday encounters with people I hear countless stories of difficulty faced by everyday individuals. My desire is to help people understand that there are millions of stories of redemption of people who have faced similar circumstances and want their stories to encourage others to continue through their trials and difficulties. God’s Helpers Soup Kitchen God’s Helpers Soup Kitchen in Raleigh, N.C., serves breakfast each morning to those in need of a warm meal, a kind smile and a word of encouragement. The ministry was started by Mary Judd on the front porch of her home in response to her desire to help those in need. Welcome to the Drive-in The Raleigh Road Outdoor Theater in Henderson, N.C., is one of the few outdoor theaters still open in the United States. The family-friendly experience is a hit with families and harkens back to the theater’s heyday in the 1950s and 1960s.
